workplace. Impex Personnel Pty Ltd is committed to providing assistance and advice
to contracted employers including the joint review of safe work practices and procedures to
minimise the risk of injury to our employees. We recognise that maintaining the highest
possible standards of health and safety is a key management responsibility. In fulfilling this
aim, we are committed to regular consultation with workers on health and safety issues.
We promise to provide the necessary time, energy and resources to:
- provide safe systems of work;
- provide safe and healthy work environment;
- provide a system of employee consultation in all OHS matters;
- ensure plant and substances in the workplace are safe and without risk to health;
- promote health and safety within the workplace;
- encourage contracted employers to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- provide suitable information, instruction, training and supervision for all employees.
Impex Personnel Pty Ltd will establish and maintain an occupational health and
safety system that will identify, assess and control workplace hazards in consultation with
employees. The National OH&S Manager is responsible for the implementation and
monitoring of processes to carry this out and to meet OHS obligations in each state and to
assign occupational health and safety duties to managers and supervisors.
Management assisted by OH&S staff and/or employee safety representatives will undertake
regular assessments to identify and report hazards, assess the risks involved and set up
control measures as necessary. In so doing, management will develop, monitor and modify
as necessary all health and safety processes, considering all aspects of the workplace.
Employees are required to:
- take reasonable care of themselves and others in the workplace
- participate in the consultation process and cooperate with all OH&S provisions agreed
by management and employees
- carry out work according to safe systems of work, use protective equipment provided
and use all equipment, tools and materials as per training provided and in the manner
for which they are intended
- immediately report any hazards or unsafe conditions that come to their attention
This policy will be regularly reviewed to take account of new legislation and organisational
changes. Management seeks the cooperation of all employees in fulfilling our health and
safety commitments. All employees, through the consultative process, will be advised of
agreed changes and arrangements for their application.
